Details below – pile on! Good questions could include: Will you make sure everyone in the U.S. has access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support by 2010? Can you understand that housing is a necessary foundation for health care? What will you do to ensure housing and services for homeless people, including those living with HIV/AIDS, mental illness or chemical dependency? Do you support a nationwide expansion of the Medicaid program to include low-income Americans living with HIV infection, as called for in the Early Treatment for HIV Act (ETHA)? What will you do to reduce racial disparities in health care and HIV/AIDS? What specific steps will you take to improve care and services for Black men who have sex with men and for Black women, who together now account for the majority of the AIDS epidemic in the U.S.? What will you do to expand HIV prevention and care in Hispanic communities in the U.S. and in Puerto Rico? Are you aware of the health access and HIV risk factors faced by transgender Americans? What steps will you take to increase access, decrease stigma and ensure respect for those of transgender experience? What specific steps do you suggest to reduce AIDS stigma in the U.S.? And you’ve probably got a few more that are even better than these – jump on the web tomorrow, give those candidates a piece of your mind, and let us all know if you get through. Thanks for pitching in!
